Rareware’s 90s Classics Added to Nintendo Switch Online Collection: 5 Vintage Games Revived for Gamers.

Nintendo has announced that they are bringing classic games from the NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64 eras by Rareware (now known as Rare) to the Nintendo Switch Online service, allowing users to play games online with friends and access retro games.

Rare’s collection includes a total of 5 games, namely Snake Rattle ‘N’ Roll (1990), R.C. PRO-AM (1993), Battletoads in Battlemaniacs (1993), Killer Instinct (1994), and Blast Corps (1997). The final game requires users to subscribe to the Expansion Pack to access and play.

Rare has been a game developer since the 80s and has been a longtime partner of Nintendo from the NES era to the Nintendo 64, creating iconic games like GoldenEye 007 and Donkey Kong Country. However, the company was acquired by Microsoft and is now part of Xbox Game Studios since 2002.

One of Rare’s standout titles in recent years is Sea of Thieves, which was originally released for Xbox and PC in 2018 and has now been announced for PS5.

TLDR: Nintendo adds classic Rare games to Nintendo Switch Online including titles like Killer Instinct and Blast Corps, showcasing Rare’s history with Nintendo and recent success with Sea of Thieves.
