Recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry at the AlphaFold2 Research Symposium: DeepMind Researchers honored for groundbreaking achievements.

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2024 has been awarded to David Baker, a pioneering protein designer, and Demis Hassabis, along with John Jumper from DeepMind, as developers of AlphaFold2, capable of predicting protein structures in up to 200 million successful formats with high accuracy.

DeepMind’s recognition with the Nobel Prize this time is quite remarkable, as their work was only published just 4 years ago, compared to other works that often require years of validation to prove their significance.

While there were 3 recipients this year, David Baker received half of the award, while Demis Hassabis and John Jumper each received a quarter.
