Reduction of Workforce by Crytek Leads to Halting of Crysis 4 Development, Focus Shifts to Hunt: Showdown 1896

Crytek, a German game studio and owner of the renowned CryEngine, has announced a 15% reduction in their workforce, amounting to 400 employees. Additionally, they have disclosed the halt in the development of Crysis 4, slated for release in 2022, starting from the third quarter of 2024.

At present, Crytek will divert their focus towards the development of Hunt: Showdown 1896, a game centered around live service gameplay. This shift will emphasize content updates for the game, alongside the expansion of their CryEngine business. The latest addition to their repertoire includes the successful release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
