Google introduces the new “Mint” color for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, marking it as the fourth color option for both models (this time, choosing a straightforward name instead of the unique “Sage” green for the Pixel 6a). Everything remains the same in terms of specifications and pricing.
The Pixel 8 in Mint green comes with the first Pixel Feature Drop of 2024, featuring a new app called Thermometer for the Pixel 8 Pro. It is FDA-approved and can be used to measure body temperature. Additionally, there is an update to the Magic Compose feature, which utilizes AI to assist in text composition. On the Pixel 8 Pro, it runs the on-device Gemini Nano model, eliminating the need for an internet connection.
As for the Circle to Search feature, which was launched alongside the Galaxy S24, it will be available on the Pixel 8 starting from January 31st.
TLDR: Google introduces the Mint color for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, with no changes in specs or pricing. The Pixel 8 Pro’s new app, Thermometer, is FDA-approved for measuring body temperature.
