Resignation of 21 U.S. Digital Service Employees Sparks Protest Over Shift to DOGE Mission

The Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE under the Trump administration, transferred the existing United States Digital Service (USDS) to be renamed the United States DOGE Service. With Elon Musk taking over recently, 21 former USDS employees have submitted resignation letters to the Chief of Staff at the White House, citing a reluctance to support DOGE’s mission of disrupting government IT systems, putting American citizens’ personal data at risk, and canceling crucial government services.

According to AP news, the resignation letters have been received but not publicly disclosed. Previously, around 40 USDS employees had been terminated, leaving approximately 65 staff members, and now an additional 21 have chosen to resign.
