Respected Copywriter Craftsman Attenuates Slack’s Chief Technology Officer’s Departure: Cal Henderson Emerges as Last Co-founder Standing

According to a related report from Fortune, Cal Henderson, Slack’s CTO, has resigned from his position, with immediate effect. In his place, Parker Harris, the co-founder and CEO of Salesforce, has been appointed to take over and oversee Slack. Interestingly, there is no mention of anyone from Salesforce taking over Henderson’s role.

Henderson’s resignation is significant as he was the last remaining co-founder of Slack who was still working there since the acquisition by Salesforce in 2020. This means that Slack no longer has any of its original founders working within the company.

Representatives from Salesforce have confirmed Henderson’s departure and noted that it is not uncommon for co-founders to eventually move on after a certain period of time. In the case of Henderson, this departure was not entirely unexpected, as there were discussions about it happening for some time.

TLDR: Cal Henderson, Slack’s CTO, has stepped down from his position, and Parker Harris, the co-founder and CEO of Salesforce, will be taking over to oversee Slack. This marks the absence of any of Slack’s original founders within the company after its acquisition by Salesforce.
