Lip-Bu Tan, the new CEO of Intel, has announced a reorganization in the company’s management structure. He outlined his vision for a leaner hierarchy within the organization and emphasized that technical department executives should report directly to him.

Sachin Katti, the head of Network and Edge Product Technology at Intel, has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the company and also appointed as the head of Intel Labs research division. His primary focus will be driving advancements in Intel’s AI-related products.

Tan has also designated three technical department executives to report directly to him, stressing the importance of working closely on details with engineering and product development teams. Their overall responsibilities remain unchanged.

Rob Bruckner is now leading the Client Platform Architecture Technology division, Mike Hurley is managing the Silicon Engineering department, and Lisa Pearce is in charge of General Hardware and Software GPU and NPU divisions.

All three positions align with Michelle Johnston Holthaus, the head of Intel’s Product division (formerly holding the interim CEO position). Holthaus’s role remains unchanged, but Tan expressed intentions to expand her role in the future.
