Resurgent Rear Camera Modules: iPhone 16 Embraces Vertical Alignment for 3D Capturing

Information released from the X account of the leaked image releaser Majin Bu indicates that it is a partial image of the rear camera of the non-Pro iPhone 16 (iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus), which notably features two rear cameras arranged vertically.

Previously, non-Pro iPhone models with dual rear cameras would have them arranged horizontally, a design that has been consistent from the iPhone X to the iPhone 12 before transitioning to a diagonal layout in the iPhone 13 and the latest iPhone 15 models.

It is speculated that the reason for the vertical camera arrangement in the iPhone 16 is to support 3D photography, which is currently only available in the Vision Pro headset, compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

TLDR: The leaked image suggests that the iPhone 16 will feature a new vertical rear camera setup, possibly to support 3D photography.
