Specializing in resurrecting classic games, Aspyr Media has announced the revival of Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles, originally released in 2000 for PS1 and Dreamcast, now available on PC and current-gen consoles. This is not a remaster, but a fresh take on the beloved title.
Jedi Power Battles was developed by LucasArts to coincide with the release of Star Wars Episode I back in 1999. Players embody iconic Jedi knights like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Mace Windu as they battle through 3D levels against Trade Federation droid armies, culminating in a showdown with Darth Maul.
The Dreamcast version of the game received a solid average review score of 76/100. The new version has seen several enhancements from the original, such as accurate lightsaber colors (Mace Windu’s lightsaber is now purple as it should be), unlocking all characters from the start, a total of 13 playable characters, updated character models and environments, as well as the addition of VS and Training modes.
Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is set to launch on January 23, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
TLDR: Aspyr Media announces the re-release of Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles, now available on modern platforms with new features and enhancements. Pre-order now to experience this classic game on January 23, 2025.
