Both companies have had a joint agreement since 2017 to ensure the proper use of UMG’s music content and to provide benefits to content creators. In addition to extending the agreement, both Meta and UMG have expanded their scope, such as supporting short video platforms where users can insert music into clips, as well as supporting music insertion in WhatsApp. Both Meta and UMG believe that unlocking value and creativity can be achieved in many ways.
