YouTube is reintroducing the Premium Lite package officially, as previously reported. Starting in the United States at $7.99 per month, it is cheaper than the regular Premium priced at $13.99 in America.
Having tested the market in various countries in 2023, including Thailand with a price of 89 Baht per month, the offer was later discontinued. The current plan for the launch of Premium Lite will expand beyond America to three leading countries, Thailand, Germany, and Australia, within the upcoming weeks and further expansion is on the horizon.
YouTube Premium Lite will have some limitations compared to the regular Premium. Content such as music videos will still display regular advertisements (due to no YouTube Music), and offline viewing and background play will not be available.
TLDR: YouTube is bringing back Premium Lite at a lower cost, with limited features compared to regular Premium.
