BYD introduces the Super E-Platform electric vehicle charging platform capable of ultra-fast charging up to 1,000 kilowatts, enabling a 5-minute charge for a 400-kilometer range. Wang Chuanfu, the founder of BYD, believes that this level of fast charging could address the reluctance of many to adopt electric vehicles due to concerns about charging time. This rapid charging time is comparable to refueling a gasoline car and marks the first time such a high-megawatt fast charging has been achieved.
This new fast charging platform will be utilized in BYD’s upcoming models, the sedan Han L and the SUV Tang L. Additionally, BYD has plans to establish 4,000 fast charging stations across China.
