Revolutionary AMD Unveils Ryzen 5900XT and 5800XT CPUs, Zen 3 Core Powerhouses of 2024

Today, AMD has unleashed a new lineup of products, including the desktop CPU flagship Zen 5 architecture, the laptop CPU Zen 5 architecture, the server CPU Zen 5 architecture, and a new server GPU as well. The release of this comprehensive set of new products may seem too good to be true according to AMD’s usual norms, but it is in line with the company’s commitment to upholding traditions and customs. Among the new offerings revealed at the AMD press conference this morning are new CPUs featuring the Zen 3 architecture (first introduced in 2020).

Two new CPUs that AMD unveiled this morning are the Ryzen 5000 series. For those who already have an older AM4 motherboard and prefer not to upgrade the motherboard, they can still upgrade the CPU.

The AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT boasts 16 cores and 32 threads, with a clock speed of 3.3/4.8GHz, a total cache of 72MB, and a TDP of 105W. Meanwhile, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT features 8 cores and 16 threads, clocked at 3.8/4.8GHz, with a total cache of 36MB, and a TDP of 105W.

It is clear that the 5900XT is a new version of the Ryzen 9 5950X released in 2020, as the specs are identical in every way except for a slightly lower clock speed. It remains to be seen at what price point AMD will choose to sell this new version (the original was sold at $799, currently selling at $359). As for the 5800XT, it is an enhanced version of the 5800X released in 2020, but with a slightly higher clock speed. AMD has only mentioned that both CPUs will be available for purchase in July, without disclosing the prices.
