Revolutionary AWS launches the DeepSeek-R1 model, compatible with Bedrock and SageMaker platforms.

Following in the footsteps of Microsoft Azure, AWS has launched the DeepSeek R1 model for rent in just one day. Amazon’s CEO, Andy Jassy, took an unusual step by promoting it in a special manner.

Amazon states their policy allows customers to choose the models they want. Therefore, the company will strive to offer the most requested models.

Since the DeepSeek-R1 model is open-source, AWS does not charge for the model itself, only for the machine rental. Customers can select machines using AWS-designed chips Trainum and Inferentia to reduce costs.

TLDR: Amazon introduces DeepSeek-R1 on both Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker AI for customer use.
