ServiceNow has debuted the Now Platform version Xanadu, upgrading numerous features in artificial intelligence and revamping the internal structure from MariaDB to RaptorDB, separating projects from PostgreSQL.
New AI features include:
– Now Assist Skill Kit: Empowering users and ServiceNow partners to create new AI Agent capabilities to integrate into the system.
– Data Visualization Generation: Generating data graphs without the need for complex dashboard creation commands.
– Chat and Email Generation: Assisting in responding to chat and email inquiries from system data.
– Now Assist for Security Operations: Aiding in security incident response by summarizing events, solutions, and facilitating data disclosure announcements.
– Now Assist for Sourcing and Procurement Operations: Streamlining procurement processes for requesters to write natural language purchase requests and find the best-priced suppliers.
Additionally, there is a suite for managing customer service centers in various industries such as media, finance, and public services. The data storage system in this version has shifted to RapterDB, developed from PostgreSQL, as opposed to the previous MariaDB. ServiceNow users report a 53% increase in transaction capacity and a 27x faster query performance.
While ServiceNow acquired Swarm64, a high-speed database development company based on PostgreSQL in 2021, it is unclear if RaptorDB is a continuation of Swarm64’s work.
