After months of speculation and anticipation, Nintendo has finally announced that they will be launching a new console after the Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year (ending March 2025). It is expected to be unveiled early next year, following the pattern set by the original Nintendo Switch release and previous rumors.
The Nintendo Switch was first revealed in March 2015 before its official launch in March 2017, giving the console a lifespan of around 8 years until the anticipated release of the new console, possibly early next year. Currently, the Nintendo Switch has sold approximately 141.32 million units.
Nintendo has mentioned that they will be hosting a Nintendo Direct event in June, but there is no information yet on any new console announcements during that event.
