Robotaxi Services Launched by Waymo in Silicon Valley

Waymo has announced the expansion of its autonomous taxi service, Waymo One, in the Silicon Valley region. The service will now cover Mountain View, Los Altos, Palo Alto, and parts of Sunnyvale, totaling 27 square miles. This expansion not only caters to numerous large tech companies in the area but also serves as a significant milestone for Waymo itself. The company originated from Google’s driverless car project in 2009 and is headquartered in Mountain View, the same location as Google’s main office. Waymo One is fully operational in Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, with the recent addition of Austin, marking its foray into the ridesharing service akin to Uber.

TLDR: Waymo expands its Waymo One autonomous taxi service in Silicon Valley, catering to tech giants in the area and marking a significant milestone for the company.
