In late 2023, there were reports that Google would unveil an AI assistant on the Pixel 9 that leverages phone data, offering a more personalized experience than Google Assistant. At that time, it was known as Pixie (with one ‘x’ instead of two), but this feature never materialized.
According to Android Authority, sources within Google revealed that the AI assistant project on Pixel smartphones still exists but has been rebranded as Pixel Sense. It is touted as the best user experience assistant on Pixel for individuals.
Leaked screenshots suggest that Pixel Sense integrates with various Google apps like Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, Docs, Files, Gmail, Keep Notes, Maps, Messages, Phone, Photos, Recorder, Screenshots, Wallet, YouTube Music, YouTube, and Aurelius (an unknown app). All data management is kept private, works offline, and is confined to the device only.
If Pixel Sense is unveiled as planned, it may likely debut on the Pixel 10 this year.
