Reports suggest that Google may soon release a new model of Chromecast, following the launch of Chromecast with Google TV 4K in 2020 and the HD version in 2022. This new model might be called Google TV Streamer and could feature a design change from the familiar dongle to a Set-Top Box format.
While the Google TV Streamer device may come in a Set-Top Box form, its design resembles a wireless phone charger stand. It is expected that casting content to the screen with this model will function similarly to the Pixel Tablet, with a Tap to Cast feature making it easier for users to cast from their phones.
Additionally, the remote has been updated with changes such as replacing the Assistant icon with a microphone icon and moving the volume controls to the front (previously located on the right side of the remote).
However, it is not clear yet whether Google TV Streamer will be released in separate HD and 4K models like the Chromecast with Google TV, nor is there any information on its pricing.
