Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared details on Apple’s new products in this week’s Power On newsletter. The focus is on the iPhone 16 and the Mac lineup.
Starting with the iPhone 16, the standout feature is Apple Intelligence, a new AI system. While Apple has confirmed that Apple Intelligence will debut in iOS 18.1, which isn’t the initial release of iOS 18, it is expected to be fully operational by October. The iPhone 16’s launch is still set for September without any delays.
Moving on to the Mac lineup, it is speculated that Apple will gradually upgrade the Mac to the latest M4 chip, following the footsteps of the iPad Pro. This upgrade will include the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and a 24-inch iMac. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro are expected to receive the M4 upgrade in 2025.
Lastly, the Apple Watch SE will feature a plastic casing instead of aluminum. Besides cost-saving reasons, the use of plastic allows for more colorful options and attracts a younger audience. The new Apple Watch SE, believed to be the 3rd generation, is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 16.
