Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has confirmed that the iPhone 18, set to be released in 2026, will feature the A20 chip manufactured using 2 nanometer technology from TSMC. Previous reports indicated that TSMC has already begun production of the 2nm chip, with Apple being the first customer to place orders for the initial batch. However, it remains uncertain whether Apple will utilize the 2nm chip in this year’s iPhone 17 or wait until 2026. On the other hand, analyst Jeff Pu recently mentioned that the iPhone 17 will use the 3nm Gen 3 chip and not the 2nm chip.
Kuo stated that TSMC’s research and development production has achieved a yield rate of 60-70% after three months, which is significantly better than before.
