According to the South Korean media Maeil Business Newspaper, there is a rumor that Meta is partnering with LG to develop the new generation of the Quest Pro 3D glasses. LG will be responsible for the screen (LG Display), battery (LG Energy), other components (LG Innotek), and the manufacturing process. It is expected that this glasses will be released in 2025 with an estimated price of $2,000. This price is higher than the initial price of the first Quest Pro, which was launched at $1,499 before being reduced to $999 later.
The Quest Pro 2 glasses are expected to be released soon to compete with the Apple Vision Pro glasses, which are set to be released in 2024 with a price tag of $3,500.
In addition, there is news about a new affordable glasses (possibly called Quest Go 2 or might have a completely new name) with a price tag of $200, set to be released in 2024. However, this glasses will not be manufactured by LG.
Currently, Meta sells the Quest 3 glasses for $499 and has reduced the price of the older Quest 2 model to $299.
