In just two days, Apple will announce the launch of new products towards the end of the year, with the iPhone 16 being one of them. Speculations have been circulating lately, the latest being information from 9to5Mac regarding the camera of the iPhone 16.

The camera of the iPhone 16 Pro lineage is rumored to upgrade the ultra-wide to 48MP (currently at 12MP), while the optical zoom will be at 5x for both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. They differ from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, which have different optical zoom capabilities.

The video recording mode of the iPhone 16 Pro is also said to be upgraded to support up to 4K 120fps (currently at 4K 60fps), QuickTake can now record 4K (previously 1080p), and when connected to external storage, the iPhone can record videos in ProRes 4K 120fps.

9to5Mac claims that Apple has tested shooting 8K video on the hardware of the iPhone 16 Pro, but it is unclear whether Apple will enable this feature or not.

Additionally, there are other camera features for the iPhone, including support for JPEG-XL format, pause and resume recording during video recording, wind noise reduction mode for video recording, improved skin tone color adjustment mode, and Spatial Photos mode for images used in Vision Pro.

Finally, there is information about a new button on the bottom right called Capture Button, similar to a camera shutter button. According to 9to5Mac, this button can be customized for functions like pressure sensitivity, swipe gestures, and has an API for external apps to utilize its capabilities.

TLDR: Apple will soon unveil the iPhone 16 with upgraded camera features, including 48MP ultra-wide, 5x optical zoom, 4K 120fps video recording, and a new Capture Button for enhanced user interaction.
