Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg reporter, has disclosed insider information suggesting that Apple is gearing up to unveil a new line of Macs with the M4 chip later this year. The M4 chip is currently in the final stages of production and will be available in at least 3 different models.
In this report, Gurman mentions that Apple will kick off the launch of the M4 with the iMac, the 14-inch standard MacBook Pro, and the high-performance 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, as well as a new Mac mini.
Furthermore, in 2025, Apple plans to update the remaining Mac models with the M4 chip, including the MacBook Air in the early part of the year, the Mac Studio in the middle of the year, and the Mac Pro towards the end of the year. This comprehensive update will cover all Mac models. The key selling point of the M4 chip will be its range of AI-focused features, although specific details are still scarce.
Currently, Apple has updated almost all Mac models with the M3 chip, except for the Mac Studio and Mac Pro. Gurman suggests that it remains unclear whether Apple will release these two models with the M3 chip first.
