Globes, the Israeli business news website, reports that Arm is developing its own GPU in its research center in Ra’anana, Israel to enhance the quality of their GPUs to compete with NVIDIA and Intel in the AI market.
In the past, Arm has already released GPUs like the Mali and Immortalis series for smartphones. However, when it comes to the PC, server, and discrete GPU market for AI applications, Arm has yet to release a direct competitor.
According to reports, the team working on the GPU development in Ra’anana consists of around 100 people, led by Dedi Yellin, who has been with Arm since 2015. This team is currently focused on the development of the Immortalis GPU.
