Rumors Swirl: HomePod with Screen to Shift Production Timeline to Q3 2025 at Minimum

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo for Apple’s new products supply chain revealed in the latest report that the smart home display, known as HomePod, with a screen version has been delayed. Previously reported that Apple would launch it in early next year.

Kuo said that the screen version of HomePod has been shifted from the original production plan. The initial plan was for Apple to start production in 2024, then moved to the first quarter of 2025 according to previous reports. However, the latest information indicates that the production plan has been pushed to around the third quarter of 2025 or after the next year’s WWDC event.

He mentioned that the production delay came from software development issues. This device is expected to use the A18 chip with a screen size of approximately 6-7 inches and support Apple Intelligence. This product is expected to be a strategic adjustment for the original HomePod lineup, transforming from a smart speaker to a more comprehensive smart home device.

Kuo also confirmed previous information about Apple’s smart privacy camera, which he said would be a vital tool to enhance the functionality of this screen version of HomePod. The product is expected to be released in 2026 as originally planned.
