Rumors swirl: Microsoft may debut exclusive Game Pass package for cloud gaming.

According to Windows Central, Microsoft may release a package for Xbox Game Pass that allows cloud gaming only, targeting customers who are not interested in purchasing a console. This market is broader than the traditional core gamer group, and the price may be lower than the current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes all features, including cloud gaming.

Additionally, Windows Central suggests that Microsoft might reintroduce the Xbox Game Pass Family Plan that was tested in 2020 and then discontinued. This could lower the average subscription cost and encourage more customers to sign up, similar to other subscription services like Netflix.

Microsoft recently added support for cloud gaming on Amazon Fire TV Stick, expanding the player base for those without consoles at home. However, users must subscribe to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service, which costs $19.99 per month, possibly too expensive for players who only want to game via the cloud without a console or gaming PC.

TLDR: Microsoft may introduce a cloud gaming-only package for Xbox Game Pass, targeting customers uninterested in buying consoles. They may also bring back the Family Plan to attract more subscribers, while expanding cloud gaming support to Amazon Fire TV Stick users.
