Rumors Swirling: Resident Evil Movie Adaptation Set for Another Reboot

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that we will soon be treated to a reboot of the Resident Evil film franchise. The rights to Resident Evil are owned by Constantin Film, a German film production company that acquired the rights from Capcom back in 1997 (right when the first game came out, talk about timing). They have been the ones behind the production of the Resident Evil films, written by Paul W. S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, spanning 6 installments from 2002 to 2017, including the recent reboot, Welcome to Raccoon City, released in 2021.

As for the upcoming reboot, Constantin Film will be co-producing with PlayStation Productions, spearheaded by director Zach Cregger, known for his work on the film Barbarian (2022).
