Samsung has announced changes in top management positions in its semiconductor business to support growth and competitiveness. Young Hyun Jun, the head of Device Solutions, will take on the role of Co-CEO of Samsung Electronics, as well as head of the Memory business and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. Meanwhile, Jinman Han, the head of the chip business in the United States, will lead the Foundry business.
Seok Woo Nam, the President of FAB Engineering & Operations, will become the CTO of the Foundry business, a newly established position. This restructuring of Samsung’s semiconductor business management comes after the company reported strong performance in the past quarter, reflecting intense market competition. Jun Young-hyun issued a statement apologizing to investors.
