Samsung Unveils AI Vision: Embracing Top Models for All Devices, Customer Experience Enhancement Focus

Amidst the wave of Generative AI that has impacted almost every tech company, the integration of this technology into their products and services has become a common practice. Samsung, for instance, has partnered closely with Google to incorporate Gemini into their hardware under the name Galaxy AI.

During a recent AI Fam Tour event for Blognone, Daehyun Kim, EVP of Samsung Electronics and head of the AI Research team, shared the company’s vision for AI usage. According to Kim, Samsung aims to enhance customer experience, personalization, and productivity through AI.

Kim emphasized that Samsung is open to partnering with external companies or even utilizing their own models to achieve these goals. This is why Samsung joined forces with Google to enhance AI features under the Galaxy AI brand through Hybrid AI, focusing on on-device processing with the option to leverage cloud resources if needed.

Additionally, Samsung has developed their own model called Gauss for internal use to safeguard against data leakage.

In addition to smartphones and tablets, as a hardware-centric company, Samsung has extended the use of AI to all household appliances in the SmartHome concept. With the central focus being smartphones, Samsung presents AI-enhanced products like:
– Samsung AI TV with AI Upscaling to deliver up to 8K resolution or enhance motion frame rates
– Bespoke 4-Door Flex refrigerator with AI camera to automatically manage food inventory
– AI Laundry Combo machine that uses AI to calculate detergent quantity and temperature for each wash, adjusts modes based on fabric type and usage diversity

In terms of security and privacy, Samsung places a high importance on these aspects. Justin Choi, VP of Mobile eXperience, mentioned that the development and implementation of AI by the company will be on the Samsung Knox end-to-end platform.

**TLDR**: Samsung is incorporating Generative AI into their products and services, partnering with Google for AI integration under the Galaxy AI brand. The company’s vision is to enhance customer experience, personalization, and productivity through AI while prioritizing security and privacy on the Samsung Knox platform.
