In the latest financial report from Sega Sammy, as of March 31, 2024, it was revealed that the company’s various franchises have sold over 5 million units in total, including both physical and digital formats.
Persona sold 5.06 million units.
Sonic sold 5.92 million units.
Like a Dragon, which includes both Judgement games, sold 5.36 million units.
The company’s total revenue amounted to 467.8 billion yen, an increase of 1.7%. Net profit, after tax deductions, was 41.8 billion yen, a decrease of 16%. The highest revenue-generating business segment was the entertainment business, with a revenue of 224 billion yen, an increase of 1.2%. The arcade game business revenue was 133.2 billion yen, a decrease of 2.5%.
This year, Sega has two major games set to be released, namely Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance and Metaphor: ReFantazio. Even though the latter is a spin-off, Sega has announced the cancellation of the main installment sales in the Nintendo eShop to avoid player confusion.
