Signal Account Linked Blogs Exposing Hazardous Links

X/Twitter has started blocking links to Signal.me, a platform for encrypted messaging. They encountered issues with links leading to Signal user accounts for communication. When X users try to post Signal.me links, whether publicly, sending DMs, or even just pasting the link in their X profiles, they receive a notification that the action cannot be completed, citing dangerous links. Meanwhile, links to other messaging platforms like Telegram can still be sent as usual. There has been no official explanation from X or Elon Musk yet, but BleepingComputer speculates that it may be due to Signal being a preferred communication channel for journalists contacting news sources on various important topics. Currently, a topic of interest is the management of Musk’s DOGE organization.

TLDR: X/Twitter blocks links to Signal.me possibly due to journalists using Signal for news contacts, while links to other platforms work fine. Interest grows in Musk’s management of DOGE.
