Singapore Allocates Over 6.9 Billion Baht to Enhance National Supercomputer Infrastructure

The National Research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore has announced an investment of 270 million dollars, or around 6.8 trillion baht, for the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) to support the country’s supercomputing infrastructure.

The next-generation supercomputer that NSCC is currently developing is scheduled to be unveiled and operational in the latter half of 2025. It will be an endeavor to integrate traditional supercomputing and quantum computing technologies.

In addition to infrastructure investment, NSCC will also focus on developing its workforce and enhancing the skills of its personnel through collaborations with universities, research institutions, and HPC companies.

The NRF, a unit under the Prime Minister’s Office of Singapore, plays a role in setting policies, directions, and strategies for research and development (R&D) in the country.
