Singapore Phone Outage Sweeps Across Island for Four Hours: Chukchun Number Unreachable

Singtel, the provider of traditional landline telephone network, experienced a system outage starting at 16:29 local time (one hour ahead of Thailand), causing widespread disruptions. Emergency hotlines, police, hospitals, and banks were unable to be contacted during this period.

Some users reported that even the broadband at home was affected, while others faced issues with their mobile phones. However, Singtel has yet to confirm if these are related problems.

The most significant issue was the inability to use emergency numbers 995 and 999. The Singaporean government set up temporary reporting through SMS at numbers 70995 and 70999.

Singtel claimed to have resolved all problems by 20:25 local time, taking nearly four hours in total.
