Singtel Collaborates with NVIDIA to Provide AI Platform Services in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand

Singtel has announced a partnership with NVIDIA to bring the NVIDIA AI Platform to various countries in ASEAN, allowing both government and private organizations to develop artificial intelligence capabilities within their own countries.

The first data center that will offer this service will be located in Singapore, with two additional centers in Thailand and Indonesia currently under construction.

NVIDIA has stated that Singapore is developing its own large language model to better understand the local idioms, culture, and practices in a country where Chinese, Indian, and Malay populations coexist. This data center is part of the country’s AI development strategy, which emphasizes the need for sufficient computing power.

TLDR: Singtel partners with NVIDIA to provide the NVIDIA AI Platform in ASEAN countries, enabling organizations to develop AI capabilities domestically. Singapore is leading the initiative with the development of a large language model to understand local nuances.
