Steam’s Terms of Service Adjusted to Allow Direct User Litigation Against Valve

Valve has made changes to the Steam Subscriber Agreement (SSA), allowing users to sue Valve in court. Previously, the SSA required users to resolve conflicts with Valve through arbitration and did not allow direct lawsuits. However, the new terms in the SSA now permit users to file lawsuits (only applicable in certain countries like the United States, based on the legal system of that country).

Valve did not provide an explanation for why they made this change, but stated that they would prefer customers to contact support if they encounter any issues rather than resorting to lawsuits.

TLDR: Valve has updated the Steam Subscriber Agreement to allow users to sue them in court, abandoning the previous requirement to resolve conflicts through arbitration.
