Shaun Noguchi, the General Manager of EA Japan, has criticized and questioned the game rating system in Japan, as determined by CERO (Computer Entertainment Rating Organization). He believes that there are two different rating standards between the games Dead Space and Stellar Blade, especially after Shift Up announced that Stellar Blade would have no content sensors in any region.
Shaun mentioned that CERO’s refusal to rate the Dead Space remake resulted in the console version not being released in Japan. CERO cited the game’s graphic violence and dismemberment as reasons for their decision. Shaun pointed out that Stellar Blade also contains intense content but still received a CERO D rating (unsuitable for players under 17) and was released in Japan.
However, Shaun clarified that he is not attacking Stellar Blade in any way and enjoys playing the demo version.
