Submission Accepted: X Submits to Brazilian Court Requesting Deletion of Identified User Accounts, Agrees to Pay Fines

The New York Times reported that after X had been battling with the high court of Brazil for several weeks, Brazil ordered a block on the latest use of X. Ultimately, X decided to comply with the Brazilian court order.

X’s legal counsel disclosed that the company had chosen to adhere to the court order, a move that Elon Musk, the owner of X, had previously denied. X will be closing user accounts identified by the Brazilian court as a threat to national security, agreeing to pay the specified fine, and appointing legal representatives in the country.

The highest court in Brazil confirmed that X had expressed its intention as reported, but noted that the company had not properly handled the paperwork, hence instructing X to submit the correct documents within five days.
