Survey Results: Half of Americans Support TikTok Ban, While 32% Oppose

In collaboration with consumer research company Ipsos, Reuters surveyed 1,022 Americans on their thoughts regarding the government ban on TikTok.

58% agree that the Chinese government uses TikTok to influence Americans, with a dissenting 13%.

50% support the ban on TikTok, while 32% oppose it, and 18% are unsure.

46% believe that the Chinese government uses TikTok to interfere in the lives of ordinary Americans.

60% agree that American politicians using TikTok to rally support is inappropriate.

Reuters clarifies that the poll only focused on adults aged 18 and above, potentially overlooking the perspectives of TikTok’s primary target group, those under 18.

Currently, TikTok has 170 million users in the United States and 270 days to find new buyers, intending to challenge this law in court.
