Survival Challenge: Can ‘Concord’ 5v5 Shooter Game by Sony Maintain High Player Engagement with Less Than 700 on Steam?

In the past week, in addition to the release of the highly successful game Black Myth: Wukong, there was also the launch of Concord, a 5v5 sci-fi shooter game by Sony, officially released on August 23rd.

Concord was simultaneously released on PS5 and PC. Checking the player statistics on Steam from SteamDB, it was found that there were only a maximum of 697 concurrent players. It is not clear how many players are on PS5, as it is possible that everyone is playing on PS5 and there are not many players on PC.

Developed by Firewalk Studios, Concord follows Sony’s Live Service policy but adopts a buy-to-play model at a price of 1,290 Baht in exchange for not generating income through a Battle Pass, unlike other free-to-play shooter games. This may have resulted in a lower initial player count than expected.
