Temporary Price Reduction: Initial Model of LCD-Equipped Steam Deck by Valve Slashed by 15% to Clear Old Stock

Valve has announced a temporary 15% price reduction on the first-generation LCD Steam Deck until July 11th. This move is expected to clear out the old stock of Steam Deck models after the release of the Steam Deck OLED some time ago.

Currently, the LCD Steam Deck model comes in three storage options: 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB, but only the 64GB and 512GB variants are included in the discounted pricing.

However, the clearance of LCD models does not necessarily hint at the imminent arrival of a Steam Deck 2 in the near future. Valve has stated that we may have to wait another 2-3 years for that. Therefore, what we’re likely to see is the continued sale of Steam Deck OLED models exclusively.

TLDR: Valve is offering a 15% discount on the first-gen LCD Steam Deck models until July 11th to clear old stock, but this doesn’t mean a Steam Deck 2 is coming soon; we might have to wait 2-3 years.
