During the latest quarterly earnings call, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Threads, a social platform centered around text, now boasts a regular monthly user base of 350 million accounts. This marks an increase of about 30 million accounts from the previous quarter’s figure of 320 million accounts.
The addition of these 30 million accounts is deemed significant when compared to Bluesky, which currently has a total of approximately 35 million registered users. However, Threads’ 350 million accounts still pale in comparison to Meta’s other services like Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp, each with user bases in the billions.
On the other hand, X’s CEO Linda Yaccarino (not to be confused with Elon Musk) recently disclosed that X has nearly reached 600 million monthly active users, up from 570 million accounts in January. Yaccarino also highlighted that 65% of users engage with news content, distinguishing the platform from traditional media consumption methods.
TLDR: Meta’s Threads platform has 350 million monthly users, while X almost reaches 600 million users, showcasing a shift towards text-focused social platforms and increased user engagement with news content.
