According to Kaspersky’s report, Thailand is the most cyber-attacked country in ASEAN, with ransomware incidents increasing by 109,315 annually. The primary targets are governmental agencies, military, energy-utilities, and financial consulting institutions.
A single cyberattack can cause significant harm to an organization, resulting in data recovery costs, ransom payments, compensation, and reputational damage, leading to temporary business shutdowns. For example, MGM Resorts in the US suffered over $100 million in losses in the third quarter of 2023 due to a ransomware attack by the Scattered Spider group.
To mitigate these threats and prevent data breaches or system failures, organizations must enhance their IT resources and implement robust data protection measures. A survey by Synology revealed that nearly 50% of Taiwanese organizations struggle to recover fully after a cyberattack due to inadequate IT resources.
