Thai Export Company Reveals Exotic Food Sauce, Boosts Sales by 31% Through Cloud System Implementation.

Jitiporn Jantasakorn, the managing director of Exotic Foods Public Company Limited, a Thai sauce manufacturing company that focuses on global exports, shared about using SAP cloud solutions based on ERP to help manage the organization. Exotic opted for the SAP Private cloud package to assist in finance, procurement, supply chain management, raw material management, and production processes.

By incorporating a system to store and analyze data, the brand was able to focus more on sales strategies, resulting in a projected revenue growth of 31% by 2023 while maintaining the same number of employees and reducing employee turnover to 3%.

Moving to a new home is better than renovating an old one. Exotic Foods highlighted previous data management challenges, where the existing system did not meet business requirements adequately. This led to using additional programs alongside the system and resulted in data discrepancies, forcing employees to manually store data in Excel sheets. Jitiporn Jantasakorn saw the need for a new ERP system as akin to moving to a new house being easier and less time-consuming than renovating a dilapidated one.

The first step was to identify and list all existing issues before selecting an ERP system that best suited the company’s operations and allowed for extensive customization. This quest led to the discovery of SAP’s solution that perfectly addressed Exotic Foods’ problems. SAP, in collaboration with NTT Data, installed a comprehensive system covering 6 modules: Financial Accounting, Sales & Distribution, Controlling, Material Management, Production Planning, and Quality Management.

For instance, implementing the system for Financial Accounting assisted in managing internal expenses by tracking departmental spending activities, analyzing and improving budgets across different activities, controlling production costs, and analyzing company profits. The SAP and NTT DATA collaboration took 6 months to design and implement the system for Exotic Foods through a 6-step process.

Prepare: Kick-off involves system design, akin to constructing a house blueprint, where NTT DATA devises templates catering to Exotic Foods’ needs.
Explore: Blueprint & Config involves creating the desired template, with SAP and NTT DATA developing or programming the system as planned.
Realize: Training & UAT enables Exotic Foods’ employees to understand and operate the system effectively.
Deploy: Data Migration involves transferring data to the ERP, similar to moving belongings to a new house.
Run: Go-live & Support entails running the system with support from SAP and NTT Data consultants.

Exotic Foods shared the outcomes of using SAP in their accounting processes, revealing that closing accounts now takes 8 days compared to the previous 14-day timeline. Additionally, the production planning time significantly reduced from 3 hours to 2-3 minutes for calculating required raw materials with the SAP system. Another advantage is the ability to track ingredients from start to finish, allowing for quick identification of quality issues and batch origins in just a few minutes.

TLDR: Exotic Foods upgraded to SAP’s ERP system, enhancing their financial management, production planning, and data analysis processes, leading to improved efficiency and revenue growth projections by 31% in 2023.
