The Apple Acquisition Appraised: A $4 Dollar Purchase Dating back to 1976 by Steve Jobs Commands an Astounding Auction Valuation of $25,000 USD.

RR Auction is organizing an auction for a check worth $4.01 from Apple Computer, signed by Steve Jobs, as payment for merchandise from Radio Shack in 1976, just four months after the company was founded. The establishment of Apple was closely tied to Radio Shack because a young Steve Wozniak had a fondness for tinkering at Radio Shack, which eventually led to his business venture selling free long-distance calling devices in violation of the law, along with Steve Jobs, becoming Apple Computer. During the four months after the establishment of Apple Computer, both of them were probably working on building the Apple I, which was one of the first successful affordable computers. Unlike computers at that time, which were typically sold as kits for customers to assemble, RR Auction is still moving forward with the auction, which is scheduled to close at 6:00 PM on December 6th, Eastern Standard Time. Currently, there have been 23 rounds of bidding, with the price currently at $2,500 per round. In addition to this check, RR Auction is also auctioning a fully operational Enigma I encoding machine, which has already skyrocketed to $84,670.
