Apart from announcing updates to the custom chatbot creation tool Gems, Google has officially announced Imagen 3, a new Text-to-Image tool that reportedly became available for use last week.
Imagen 3 not only supports the creation of higher quality, more detailed, and more realistic images, but also incorporates the SynthID watermark system seen in Imagen 2. Users will once again be able to create personalized images after Google shut down this feature earlier this year due to issues with inaccurate image generation.
Google states that images created from Imagen 3 will not support commands for creating lifelike images, identifiable features of individuals, youth imagery, violent or gory images, and sexually explicit content. While images created may not be perfect, feedback will be taken into account for future improvements.
Imagen 3 will gradually roll out updates to all Gemini users, but the ability to create personalized images will be tested with a select group of Gemini Advanced, Business, and Enterprise customers in English first.
TLDR: Google introduces Imagen 3, a new Text-to-Image tool with improved image quality and realism, incorporating a watermark system. Users can once again create personalized images, with a focus on eliminating inappropriate content. Testing will begin with select Gemini users in English.
