Margot Robbie, the actress who recently achieved success with the film Barbie, has teamed up with LuckyChap Entertainment, her production company, and Vertigo Entertainment to develop a film adaptation of The Sims video game. Warner Bros. will distribute the film, similar to Barbie.
Details of the film have not been extensively revealed yet. However, Electronic Arts, the game developer, has confirmed that the film project is in development. This collaboration marks the first time EA and Warner Bros. are working together, with Robbie serving as a producer through LuckyChap, akin to her role in creating Barbie.
Initially, the film will have Kate Herron, known for directing the Loki series season 1 for Marvel, co-writing the screenplay with Briony Redman.
