Qualcomm recently unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, touting it as the most powerful mobile chip available. According to benchmarks run by Qualcomm with a reference smartphone on Android Authority, we can get a glimpse of the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Geekbench 6 testing revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite scored slightly lower than the Apple A18 Pro single-core performance (by approximately 4%). However, both chips outshine others in the market. In terms of multi-core performance, the Snapdragon 8 Elite surpasses the A18 Pro by a significant 27%, thanks to its higher core count efficiency (6 cores compared to the A18 Pro’s 4 cores).
Qualcomm did not disclose the specific CPU performance numbers compared to the A18 Pro, but they did compare it to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, where the Snapdragon 8 Elite comfortably came out on top.
TLDR: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip showcases impressive performance, outperforming the competition in both single-core and multi-core benchmarks.
