After Google was found guilty in a recent Search antitrust case, sources at Bloomberg revealed that the Department of Justice (DoJ) is considering measures to address the misconduct. The measures being considered range from mild actions such as requiring Google to share data with competitors and implementing safeguards to prevent unfair advantages in AI products, to more severe actions like banning exclusive contracts, selling off Adwords (Google Ads), and even potentially forcing the separation of Chrome and/or Android into separate entities.
Despite Google’s objections, Judge Amit Mehta has ordered both Google and the DoJ to prepare for competition restoration measures.
