Adam Mosseri, the head of the Instagram team, recently announced that Threads, a social text-focused app by Meta, now has a user base of over 200 million accounts, in just 13 months since its launch in July of last year.
Prior to this, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, had just revealed during the quarterly earnings call that Threads was nearing 200 million accounts. The growth of Threads saw a surge in the initial stages post-launch, with users migrating from Twitter to give it a try, only to see a decline in user numbers. However, over time, the user base steadily increased. Last month, Threads reported 175 million accounts, indicating an additional 25 million accounts within a month, while Twitter, now known as X, reported around 600 million accounts in May.
